GTA 5 Rumors Hitting VGNZ

Just over the last few weeks the VGNZ offices have been hit with some very interesting rumors regarding Grand Theft Auto 5. Some of these include: GTA5 this time will be based in London, the game will carry a 3 month exclusive to PlayStation 3 and finally the release date will be October 2010. As we state these are only rumors we’ve heard through different sources and nothing official from Rockstar or Take 2!

Infamous Launching Platinum This Week

It doesn’t feel that long ago since Infamous released on the PS3, and this week its already going Platinum to retail for the hot new price of $59.99. This game has been a VGNZ favorite game for us here, and we would highly recommend picking this title up if you haven’t played it already! Tekken 6 Out Preforms On 360

One piece of news we heard today at VGNZ which surprised us was that the 360 version of Tekken 6 which released last week, was out selling and renting the PS3 version! With the Tekken 6 series being such a PlayStation dominated franchise, we found this very hard to believe. Later this week we will be receiving GfK reports which will show us in black and white if this is the case. The news we heard today was from major retailers throughout the country. Tekken 6 is currently selling for $134.99 on PS3 and 360 with the PSP version launching early December in very limited quantities.

COD Modern Warfare 2 Launching

One of the biggest games for 2009 will be launching and selling in less than a couple of hours! Modern Warfare 2 is due for release on the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. There will also be a Wii version available but this will be known as Modern Warfare: Reflex. VGNZ has been talking to key retailers and rental stores through out the country and heard positive feed back with most stores receiving their stock as early as Friday. Surprisingly no one has brokenthe street date in New Zealand. The PS3 and 360 standard versions will be selling for $149.99 with the PC version at $119.99, making MW2 one of the most expensive games available. Let us know if you’re getting this game!

Mad Catz Confirm Modern Warfare 2 Accessories for NZ

Great news to all those Modern Warfare 2 fans out there, Mad Catz today confirmed that the sexy looking Modern Warfare 2 range will be available in New Zealand at the same time as launch of the game! This range will be available on PS3, 360 and PC, and range from Gamepads and headsets on the PS3 & 360, to a mouse and keyboards on the PC. After having a good close up look and play with the Mad Catz Street Fighter 4 range of joysticks, we are some what looking forward to seeing this new range. VGNZ Upgrading Servers

Since the new VGNZ has launched we have been under going some performance issues and would like to let you know we are currently in the process of upgrading our server to a much faster, state of the art system! This should be up and running in the next few weeks, so please bare with us! The new database system has been a lot more resource hungry than we originally thought!

PS3 250GB Uncharted 2 Bundle Confirmed

Today VGNZ learnt that Sony will be releasing the new PlayStation 3 250GB console at $729.99 with a free copy of Uncharted 2. Unlike the hard bundle as seen in the UK, the bundle here will be a soft bundle meaning you pick up the console and game separately but still get the game for free! Thats a massive savings of $119.99! We are unsure how long this bundle will be offered for, but know that the RRP price of the new 250GB console will be $729.99. Could we maybe see more bundles like this with PS3 on the build up to Christmas? We can only hope so!

Uncharted 2 Receives Massive 9.5 IGN Review

One of the first reviews has hit from IGN on Uncharted 2. They provided the game with a massive 9.5 out of 10 rating calling the game absoluetely stunning. The review can be found here: http://au.ps3.ign.com/articles/102/1026373p1.html

This game easily has to be one to the most anticipated PlayStation 3 releases this year for VGNZ.

Uncharted 2 is due out on the 15th of October and is available as a Collectors Edition at the same price for all pre-orders, or a standard version.

IGN Rates PSP Gran Turismo 6.8

Today VGNZ have seen one of the first reviews for what we’re expecting to be one of the biggest PSP games of the life of the console, Gran Turismo. IGN have rated the game 6.8 calling it passable. That is a slightly disappointing review for the team here at VGNZ.

By the sounds of it the biggest let down has been the presentation of the game, which doesn’t even include career mode or any sort. Could this possibility be true or have IGN gone out and reviewed the non-finished product?
